About Mondragone

Mondragone is a coastal town in the province of Caserta, in the Campania region. It is known for its beach, which is one of the longest and most popular in the area. It is also known for its castle, which overlooks the sea and has a medieval tower. It is also known for its cheese, especially the mozzarella di bufala, which is made from the milk of the local water buffaloes.

Mondragone is also the site of the ancient city of Sinuessa, where Cicero had a villa. The ruins of the city can still be seen, along with a Roman amphitheater, a thermal bath, and a necropolis.

Mondragone was founded by the Samnites and later became a Roman colony. It was named after the goddess Munda, who was worshipped in the area.
